Sarah Stephens-Sparrow was born to residents of South Fork.  Sarah was raised in South Fork and graduated from Del Norte High School. Trustee Sparrow participated in Student Council in both middle and high school. Mrs. Sparrow has always been interested in politics and bettering her community through involvement in local organizations. After attending both Adams State University and the University of Colorado at Boulder she began working at Wolf Creek Ski Area. Sarah learned to ski at Wolf Creek at a very young age and also developed a love for South Fork and the surrounding outdoors in her childhood. Sarah and her husband, August (Augie) also born and raised in South Fork, love to ski, fish, hike, jeep and spend time with family.  Mrs. Sparrow believes her upbringing in such a beautiful and unique community should be available to future generations.  Sarah hopes that her involvement in town politics will help better the town and make South Fork a place that is sustainable and inviting to the younger generations and families.

My passion for South Fork began in the 1980’s. Winter skiing and summer hiking introduced me to our wonderful area. In 1997 I was fortunate to find a cabin in South Fork. In 2017 after working in education for 25 years and in private business for 15, I retired here to enjoy our mountains, our scenery, our seasons and our town full time. I serve on the South Fork Town Board because I want the best for our town. As a tourist town we welcome and embrace our visitors. We provide extraordinary opportunities for outdoor activities and support our businesses in their endeavors to provide for both full time residents and seasonal tourists. Small tourist towns face unique opportunities in terms of infrastructure and community services. Our town strives to meet these needs while considering the desires of our citizens and the future prosperity of South Fork. I look forward to continuing to work for our community.

My wife JoAnne and I moved from Broomfield, CO to South Fork in 2018. For several years we had traveled the US in our RV and could have lived anywhere but it was South Fork that we chose to make our home. We love living in one of the most beautiful areas of Colorado, the small town values, and the friendly independent spirit of South Fork.

Kevin Stickens, owner of Grandview Cabins & RV Resort.  Our family moved to South Fork June of 2017 after deciding the big city was no longer for us and it was time for us to get back to our small town roots.  My favorite thing about South Fork is the location and access to all my hobbies such as ATV trails, hiking trails, hunting, fishing, and skiing.  Also, we are thankful to the friendly people who have welcomed us to this community.  I enjoy volunteering my time helping with the Friends of South Fork, logger days, chili cook off, dog sled races, community Easter egg hunt, and whatever else the town might need help with.  I believe in community and I am looking forward to serving the town of South Fork for the next several years.

She and her husband (a 5th generation of the San Luis Valley) love raising their girls in the small community of South Fork. She enjoys homeschooling their girls while working side by side with her husband in their business. As a lifetime local and a business owner here in South Fork, Jesse is excited to have the opportunity to sit on the Board of Trustees and represent the town in helping it grow in the best way possible while keeping South Fork unique and special for generations to come.
